This is not play-money - it is actual currency you can spend on any Steam game, DLC, or market purchase. This guide walks you through the complete process from in-game item to wallet balance, including pricing strategies we have tested across thousands of market transactions.

Step 1: Transfer Items to Steam Inventory
Items in TBH live in your in-game inventory. To sell them, you must first move them to your Steam inventory. In the TBH game window, look at the top-right corner for the ship icon. Click it to open the Steam Inventory Transfer panel. Drag the items you want to sell from your game inventory onto the ship panel. Confirm the transfer. The items now appear in your Steam Inventory under the TBH tab.
Important: Once transferred to Steam inventory, the item is no longer usable in-game. Do not transfer gear you are currently wearing or might want to use. Only transfer items you intend to sell or trade.
Step 2: List Items on the Market
Open your Steam Inventory (Steam client - Inventory - TBH tab). Click on the item you want to sell. Click the green "Sell" button. Steam shows you a price chart of recent sales for that item. Enter your asking price - Steam calculates and shows the buyer's total price and your net earnings after fees. Check the agreement box and click "OK" to confirm. Confirm the listing in the Steam Mobile Authenticator app if prompted.
The listing is now live. You can view and manage your active listings from the Steam Community Market page under "My Active Listings." Items stay listed until sold or until you cancel the listing. Cancelled listings return the item to your Steam inventory.
Step 3: Pricing Strategy That Actually Sells

In our experience, the most reliable approach for consistent income is the undercut by 10-15% strategy. Getting your gold now and reinvesting it in progression is worth more than an extra 15 cents three days from now. We typically list everything at 85-90% of the lowest price and have a 90%+ sell-through rate within 24 hours.
Never use the suggested price Steam auto-fills. Steam's suggested price is often based on outdated data or irrelevant items. Always check the price chart and current listings manually before setting your price.
Step 4: Buying and Receiving Items
When you buy items from the Steam Market for TBH, they do not appear in your inventory automatically. Open TBH and click the mail icon (top of the game window). The Mailbox has two tabs: General and Rewards. Market purchases arrive in the General tab. There is a 10-second refresh cooldown on the mailbox - click the refresh button and wait. If an item does not appear after a minute, restart the game.
When your items sell, the Steam Wallet funds are available immediately. You can check your balance from any Steam store or market page. There is no in-game notification when an item sells - check your Steam Inventory or Market history periodically.

Accessories are consistently the best sellers because they drop far less frequently than weapons and armor. A Legendary Ring with Crit Chance and Crit Damage will sell within hours at almost any price point. Soulstones are also reliable - every player needs them for Act boss attempts, and the demand is constant.
Market Restrictions and Trade Locks
- 7-day trade lock: Items you buy from the market or cancel from a listing cannot be sold again for 7 days. This applies to the specific item, not your entire inventory.
- Celestial/Divine/Cosmic restriction: The top 3 rarity tiers are currently blocked from market trading. Per the July 2026 roadmap, this restriction is expected to lift within July.
- Decorated items: Items with active Cube decorations, engravings, or inscriptions cannot be listed. Use the Cube Extraction function to remove them first - but note that extraction destroys the decoration permanently.
- Market upload slots: The base game has limited listing slots. The Trade Ship DLC adds 5 additional slots.

The jump from Regular to Optimized is dramatic because Torment difficulty + White Chest Lock + Trade Ship DLC multiplies your sellable item output by roughly 3-4x compared to Hell difficulty with default settings. Most players will land somewhere in the Regular range, earning enough to buy a DLC or cheap game every 1-2 weeks from passive TBH farming alone.
One last thing: Steam Wallet funds from TBH item sales are subject to Steam's standard terms. You cannot "cash out" to a bank account or PayPal. But for anyone who regularly buys games, DLC, or market items on Steam, TBH farming effectively makes those purchases free.
