The Sorcerer (called Mage in some communities) is TBH's magic damage specialist and the game's premier AoE damage dealer. With Fireball, Snowstorm, and Meteor Strike at their disposal, the Sorcerer can clear entire waves of enemies in a single cast. Their elemental flexibility means they can tune damage types to enemy weaknesses — a unique advantage no other class has.

The trade-offs: the Sorcerer has the lowest base HP in the game (50) and is entirely dependent on skill cooldowns. When spells are on cooldown, damage output drops to near zero. A well-geared Sorcerer with optimized cooldown reduction is terrifying. A poorly-geared one dies to a stiff breeze.

How Elemental Damage Works in TBH

TBH enemies have elemental resistances and weaknesses. The Sorcerer's unique strength is the ability to match damage type to enemy vulnerability:

Element Skill CD Best Against
FireFireball6sUndead, plant-type enemies. Short cooldown = frequent casts.
IceIce Orb / Snowstorm8s / 22sFire elementals, fast-moving enemies. Snowstorm also slows/freezes.
LightningLightning / Meteor StrikeVariesWater/armored enemies. Meteor Strike provides hybrid fire+lightning AoE.

Key insight: Snowstorm is one of the few AoE crowd control skills in the game. It slows and can freeze enemies, providing both damage and utility. This makes the Sorcerer valuable even against fire-resistant enemies — the CC alone can justify the slot.

Best Sorcerer Skills

Fireball (Active) — Priority 1

6-second cooldown, solid damage, fire element. This is your bread-and-butter spell — short cooldown means it's always available. Max this first for consistent magic damage output. At max rank, Fireball hits hard enough to one-shot weak mobs.

Snowstorm (Active) — Priority 2

22-second cooldown, massive ice AoE with slow and freeze chance. This is your signature skill — it deals damage AND controls the battlefield. The freeze effect gives your party breathing room during difficult waves. Long cooldown, but the impact is worth it.

Ice Orb (Active) — Priority 3

8-second cooldown, moderate ice damage. A middle-ground spell that provides ice coverage when Snowstorm is on cooldown. Useful for maintaining elemental pressure, but lower priority than Fireball and Snowstorm.

Lightning (Active) — Priority 4

Single-target lightning damage. Good for bosses weak to lightning, but the Sorcerer's strength is AoE — other classes handle single-target better. Take 1 point for elemental coverage; invest more only if you regularly fight lightning-weak bosses.

Meteor Strike (Active) — Priority 5

Massive fire+lightning hybrid AoE. Very long cooldown, very high damage. A "delete this wave" button. Satisfying but impractical for sustained farming — max it last, after your core rotation is solid.

Best Sorcerer Build

Standard AoE Build (Recommended)

Sorcerer Gear & Stats

Priority Stat Why
Cooldown ReductionMore spells = more damage. Reduces everything from Fireball (6s → ~4s) to Snowstorm (22s → ~15s). Best scaling stat.
Skill EffectBoosts all spell damage. The Sorcerer's version of Attack Power. Stack it.
Crit RateSpells can crit. With long cooldowns, a crit on Snowstorm is devastating.
Crit DamageMultiplies those devastating crits.
HPAt 50 base HP, even a little helps. Get some on accessories or you'll die to everything.

How to Manage Sorcerer Cooldowns

The Sorcerer's performance hinges on cooldown management. Here's the optimal rotation:

  1. Open with Snowstorm — start fights with your longest cooldown so it begins recharging immediately. The slow/freeze also provides immediate crowd control.
  2. Spam Fireball — use on cooldown. At 6 seconds, it's your most frequent cast.
  3. Ice Orb as filler — cast when both Fireball and Snowstorm are on cooldown.
  4. Save Meteor Strike for dangerous waves — don't waste it on weak mobs. The long cooldown means it should be reserved for elite packs or bosses.

Cooldown Reduction breakpoints to aim for: 20% CDR is the first major feel improvement (Fireball drops to ~4.8s). 35-40% is achievable with optimized late-game gear and transforms the Sorcerer into a spell machine gun.
